right here
Peer down upon the valley
from my desk in the belly
my basement
viewpoint.
The last pear's got snow now
go outside and disallow
any serious
disturbance.
Home seems safe from harm
been here long as my arm
my monkey arm
and leg.
In this place without a face
because I willingly erased
anywhere else's
visage.
Used to play in parks and streets
shook both fists at urban beats
told the mayor and council
to look out.
Now on smoggy days I splurge
on pennies, dimes and ancient verbs
finding the tensions
in connections.
Some sounds are long gone
trains and train songs soothing
the old old
colic.
