How does does the swimming pool image contribute to the idea of "ethnic cleansing"? Perhaps you can either textually enlighten or supply a more detailed image that will clarify.
The lower photo is not clear enough (either) to contribute to the heading, "ethnic cleansing". Can you offer some explanation/clarity? Thanks. =)
The contrast drawn works on several levels of detail. Details are not required to see the contrast. Anyone who knows about the expansion of Jewish settlements on Arab land can see in the contrast between these two photos a dramatic expression of injustice.
Sometimes, cursor, things not spelled out are as meaningful or more impactful as things that are spelled out.
If you insist on my spelling it out, then I must tell you that the first photo is of a swimming pool built in a Zionist settlement just outside of the Gaza Strip. Jewish kids only. "Pure". And the other smaller photo is a photo of some of the destruction of Gaza during the Isrzeli invasion of this past year.
The point is not any FACT. The point is that the same reality is seen in SUCH contrasting terms.

That piece of information makes comparison possible. If it were a public swimming pool in Austin TX, then a meaningful comparison could not reasonably be made. Thanks for clarifying.
I agree. That is perceptive. Not exactly the same, but both cases at least suggest serious consideration of whether and how the term "ethnic cleansing" could be applied.
In order to answer the question, in these cases or others, related facts would have to be dredged up, compared, analyzed and patterns between them found.
THERE ARE COMPELLING PATTERNS in Palestine and in the USA which observers cannot ignore. These patterns are persistent, real, pernicious, and should be noted and resisted by people who are rational and moral.

This issue apparently is reasonably close to home, although not at a level to be called "ethnic cleansing".

Thanks for the parallel.
